Click the "A" icon to drop down the full editor controls.

Or, if you just paste the URL, it converts it to a link, as vB has always done.

Don't bother with the "Link intent Type" option, to left of the editor. It's too unpredictable.

Well, he wasn't terribly good at it frankly, so it's probably for the best. He'd lost interest, by his own admission.

He took over Admin Addict and it flopped. Then he took over Admin Talk and it flopped. There's a pattern here....

I don't know about fake members, if that's true or not, what I do know is that there was a lot more activity on Admin Talk from genuine, known members, when Brandon had it. Remember of course he'd merged his "General Forums" discussion site into it, and that itself was a product of merging numerous busy sites, like Alien Soup.

I remember when AWS bought it, he deleted all those merged posts and closed the general discussion sections, saying he wanted iot to be a pure forum admin site. That's the REAL reason for the loss of activity.

Whatever people think of Brandon, he didn't do a bad job of running his sites. Every one he's sold has collapsed after he sold it.

Oh he's involved is he? All the more reason not o go there. He's rude, aggressive and intolerant of opinions he disagrees with.

Like I said, the admin sites are a shambles and there is room for someone to come in from outside and do it properly, without all the baggage currently being lugged about by everyone involved.
